Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 16-week holiday coverage assignment. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

General Information

• Location: Asheville, NC
• Unit Name: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically; up to 7:1 on emergency department behavioral holds
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Unit Staffing: Includes techs working in cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks available days and nights.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of nursing experience, with a minimum of 1 year in an emergency room setting.
• Experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center is preferred.
• Team-oriented mentality with the ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – to be completed by hire date
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Work Schedule

• Must be willing to work every other weekend.
• Scheduling cannot commit to block scheduling and must meet departmental needs.
