Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

The Emergency Room operates at a high capacity, catering to a diverse population. Our facility serves as a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, focusing on excellence in patient outcomes and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
  • Utilize advanced medical equipment and technology effectively.
  • Document patient information accurately using our electronic health record system.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives to enhance patient experience and care quality.

Unit Specifics

  • Number of Beds: 101
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds.
  • Staffing Description: Includes technicians and clerks supporting nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an emergency room setting.
  • Experience in a high-volume emergency department with over 100,000 visits per year is preferred.
  • Must possess strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department is required.

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) before Date of Hire
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy scrubs.
