Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

Join a highly regarded Endoscopy unit known for its excellence in patient care. The unit operates with a focus on quality, handling a significant volume of procedures daily. We seek a skilled Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to contribute to our dynamic team.

Shift Details

• Days with every other weekend rotation
• 12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Unit Information

• Location: Multiple locations within the region
• Unit Type: GI/Endoscopy
• Number of Procedure Suites: 2
• Daily Procedures: 5-25

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Experience with procedural sedation is mandatory
• Call experience is required

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all three phases of patient care within the Endoscopy unit
• Administer and monitor MAC sedation and procedural sedation
• Assist physicians with various procedures including EGDs, colonoscopies, ERCPs, and more
• Conduct bedside procedures in the Emergency Room (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as needed
• Collaborate with techs who assist with equipment management, stock rooms, and endoscope care

Work Environment

• Support from a charge nurse present every shift from Monday to Friday
• Rotating call responsibilities among staff, including weekends and holidays
• Location is within close proximity to multiple sites, enabling flexibility

Dress Code

Professional attire is required; OR scrubs will be provided.

Orientation

Orientation will be tailored based on individual experience and comfort level, typically lasting 2-3 days.
