Job Description:

Registered Nurse specializing in Dialysis required to perform acute care dialysis in the hemodialysis suite and ICU, managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 and 1:1. Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with an 83% or higher before signing the contract.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled acute care dialysis nursing including AVF/AVG cannulation, CVC access, and management of hemodialysis complications.
• Perform peritoneal dialysis site care and catheter care, and coordinate peritoneal dialysis initiation and termination.
• First to float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed.
• May be asked to precept as needed by the unit.

Requirements:

• Must have peritoneal dialysis experience and competence with setup and disconnect using Baxter Home Choice machines.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with setting rate drips: amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, and milrinone.
• BSN not required; valid nursing license to submit.
