Open Heart Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Open Heart Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team in a travel position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Open Heart surgery, as well as experience in various surgical specialties.

Position Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Days (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM)
• Call Requirements: Weeknight and weekend availability
• Floating: Not required
• Block Scheduling: Not available

Location

Porter, IN

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Indiana
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Open Heart surgery
• Additional surgical experience in Orthopedic, Neurological, Da Vinci Robot, General, Gynecological, and Podiatry procedures is preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is an advantage

Work Environment

The surgical unit consists of 12 beds, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1. Surgical staff wears surgical blue scrubs.

Orientation

Orientation for new hires will be available on approved dates, typically occurring every other Monday (excluding holidays).
