Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This role requires working with critically ill patients and necessitates a strong foundation in critical care nursing.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 16
• Staffing: 45 All Registered Nurses
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Equipment Used: GE monitors, EV 1000, Hemispheres, CRRT (NextStage), Impella, Swan Ganz, Arterial lines, Chest tubes, Ventilators
• Electronic Medical Record System: Meditech

Typical Responsibilities

• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and manage Swan Ganz catheters, arterial lines, and chest tubes.
• Provide comprehensive patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Administer medications and manage ventilators for critically ill patients.
• Assist in CABG recovery and other CVICU-specific procedures.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care nursing experience, preferably in Adult ICU, CVICU, or Neuro ICU.
  • Ventilator management and proficiency in arterial line, central line, and chest tube management.
  • Current RN license.
• Preferred:
  • Experience in CVICU-specific care, including CABG recovery, CRRT, and Impella.
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and CCRN certification.

Schedule Requirements

• 2 weekend shifts biweekly.
