CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)

General Information

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This role involves working with a specialized team to care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 4
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 for immediate post-surgical, 1:2 for post-operative days 1-3
• Unit Staffing: Primary Nursing model in place
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling Requirements: 36 hours per week with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
• Floating Policy: RNs will maintain the same patient ratio as the unit they are floated to

Qualifications

• Experience: 1-2 years caring for fresh cardiac surgery patients with direct primary recovery
• Advanced Skills: ACLS certification, experience with balloon pumps, Impella training, and familiarity with Hemosphere or Acumen
• Certifications Required: ACLS

Patient Care Responsibilities

The CVICU RN will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care, closely monitoring patient progress, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
