Job Description:

The RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab utilizes the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients by performing assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. The role involves prescribing medications and treatments, ensuring accurate documentation, developing patient care plans, and providing patient and family education. The RN participates in performance improvement activities and utilizes clinical expertise in support of the patient’s care.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizes resources to teach and support patient and family education.
• Provides education to the appropriate level of understanding.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
• Engages in personal development and supports opportunities for learning and growth.
• Maintains timely flow of patients and performs telephone triage.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program – Education Verification Required.
• 3 years of RN experience with 1 year of critical care experience required.
• Cardiovascular Intervention experience required.
• Current WI or Compact RN licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• Successfully pass EKG test.
• NIHSS certification.
