Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team in a home health setting. This role involves providing physical therapy services to patients in a designated geographical region. The PTA will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans, assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals, and ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement patient treatment plans as directed by the supervising physical therapist.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance mobility and function.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with facility policies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Experience with Oasis documentation is required.
  • Home health experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule

This position offers a guaranteed 40 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a requirement of working every third weekend and minor holidays as needed.

Additional Information

  • Mileage will not be compensated as this is an all-inclusive position.
  • Business attire with a white lab coat is required; jeans are not permitted.
  • Orientation for this position will last approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks.
  • Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic conditions, strokes, joint issues, spinal injuries, and various speech-related conditions.
