Physical Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team for a 12-week contract, working five 8-hour days from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and treating patients in both acute care and rehabilitation settings.

Unit Information

• Location: Independence, MO
• Number of Beds: 285 acute care, 16 inpatient rehab
• Patient Ratios: Acute 12:1, Rehab 4-5:1
• Unit Staffing: Includes rehab tech support
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Equipment Used: Standard rehab equipment and safe patient handling equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to promote patient recovery.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Assist in coordinating patient care between acute and rehab settings.

Requirements

• Licensed Physical Therapist
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in acute care and rehabilitation settings
• Strong evaluation and treatment planning skills

Additional Information

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, with a 1 weekend shift every 6 weeks.
• Dress Code: Eggplant colored scrubs required.
