Physical Therapist

Unit Information

The therapy staff provides services throughout the entire facility.

• Number of Beds: 28-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) and 383 acute care beds (average census of 240)
• Number of Staff: 17 Physical Therapists (PTs) on staff, including full-time and PRN personnel
• Patient Ratios: 4 patients per day on IRF unit; 8-12 patients per day on acute care unit
• Type of Equipment: Two therapy gyms, Vector, LiteGait, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Apartment
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations, treatment, and discharge planning for patients
• Participate in team conferences and family training sessions
• Utilize adaptive devices and equipment for patient rehabilitation

Qualifications

Skill Sets Required:

• Must Have: Willingness to work on the IRF unit, strong critical thinking, and clinical reasoning skills
• Preferred: Prior experience in a hospital or IRF setting, particularly with stroke or neurological care

Unit Policies and Guidelines

• 1 weekend shift per month is required
• Active Physical Therapy license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are necessary
