Physical Therapist (PT)

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for delivering quality therapy services to patients by performing evaluations and developing individualized treatment plans and goals aimed at maximizing functional outcomes. This role requires maintaining professional and ethical practice standards in accordance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment programs and reassess treatment results regularly.
  • Actively participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and significant others in patient care.
  • Provide services in compliance with ethical standards and organizational policies.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, either from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There are no weekend shifts or on-call responsibilities.

Patient Care Focus

The position involves working at a critical access facility that treats skilled nursing patients with an average length of stay of 14 days, as well as floating to outpatient care services within the same organization.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in a therapy setting is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Current Texas and national physical therapy licenses are required.
  • Wound care experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings is beneficial.

Work Environment

The department consists of a supportive team with two full-time staff physical therapists available to guide and assist. Typical patient cases include orthopedics, general conditions, wounds, and debility. Specialized cases may be referred to other facilities as needed.
