Occupational Therapist – Outpatient (FT- 1.0 FTE, Day Shift)

Job Description:

Looking for someone with a strong skillset in outpatient orthopedic (including shoulders/elbows/wrists/hands; splinting; modalities) and neurological rehabilitation. The purpose of this position is to implement therapy programs for patients referred to the system as well as providing health and wellness education.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates physical and functional status including muscle groups, motor function, upper extremity function, ADLs, coordination and neurological status.
• Implements a plan of treatment as indicated by evaluations including manual therapy, modalities, therapeutic exercise, splinting fabrication/modifications.
• Prepares and instructs appropriate therapeutic exercise programs and develops home programs.
• Documents initial evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, daily treatment, education, and discharge summaries.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers in strategies to manage pain, improve safety and function, and educate on the individualized plan of care.
• Performs Functional Capacity Evaluations, Work Screens, and Driver’s evaluations if trained.
• Collaborates with other disciplines and healthcare providers as needed.

Requirements:

• Graduate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited AOTA program.
• Montana Licensure (Occupational Therapist).
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• Participates in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire.
• Two years of hospital (inpatient/outpatient) occupational therapy experience preferred.
