Speech Therapist

Unit Information

The position covers both outpatient and inpatient settings, with a focus on specific needs determined at the time of hiring. Inpatient duties may include working with general inpatient, rehabilitation, or sub-acute patients, while outpatient responsibilities could involve working at two separate locations, including one specializing in orthopedic and sports medicine.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and provide treatment to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform swallow studies and other necessary evaluations.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary in accordance with professional standards.
• Participate in departmental activities, including training and orientation for new staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Current CCC-SLP certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience with swallow studies is mandatory; additional experience in swallow therapy for occupational therapy is preferred.
• Current BLS certification.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for weekend shifts, which may include working every Saturday or Sunday, as well as holiday coverage in rotation with permanent staff.

Uniform and Orientation

Uniforms consist of a provided polo shirt, with the expectation of wearing khakis or black pants. The orientation will include three shifts specific to the area of work.

Additional Information

• Coverage areas involve working with various patient populations, including spinal cord injuries, strokes, general orthopedic conditions, and lymphedema.
• Operations include 24/7 pharmacy support.
• Shift hours are 8 hours per day, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
