Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Unit Information

Location: Wichita, KS

Unit: Occupational Therapy

Daily Census: Approximately 250 active consults/day

Staffing: 30 staff members, with 17.29 FTEs

Staff Composition: 2:1 OTR to COTA ratio

Patient Ratios: Typically 9-13 patients assigned to each COTA daily

Equipment: General acute care DME

Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience in Occupational Therapy
• Active Kansas licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in trauma care
• Experience with comprehensive stroke care

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting Occupational Therapy treatments as per patient care plans
