Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide prescribed treatments under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists. This role focuses on various rehabilitation areas including geriatric, orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, and neonatal rehabilitation, as well as splint follow-ups and assistance with other medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed occupational therapy treatments as directed by licensed occupational therapists.
• Provide rehabilitation services across multiple specialties including geriatric, orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, and neonatal care.
• Assist with splint follow-ups and other relevant medical conditions.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Mentor and train staff on technical skills related to occupational therapy.

Requirements

• Education: High School Education/GED or equivalent required. Associate’s/Technical Degree in occupational therapy or a related field is required.
• Work Experience: A minimum of two years of rehabilitative services experience or an equivalent level of education is preferred. Two years of experience specifically in occupational therapy is also preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant certification is required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor according to applicable policies is required.

Schedule

The position is for day shift work, with start times ranging between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM, Monday through Friday.
