X-ray Technician

Job Summary

An X-ray Technician is responsible for operating radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment, ensuring the evaluation of image quality, and managing patient interactions in various clinical settings, including the operating room (OR), emergency department (ED), inpatient units, and portable imaging situations. This position may also include working with pediatric and neonatal patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment proficiently.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and adherence to safety standards.
• Provide imaging services in the OR, ED, inpatient areas, and portable settings as required.
• Assist in the training of students, including performing competency check-offs.
• Float between departments as needed to support operational needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a Level 1 trauma facility or 2-3 years in a large bed Level 2 trauma facility.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Graduated from a JRCERT/ARRT accredited radiologic technology program.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC and Sectra.
• Experience with imaging equipment from GE, Phillips, and CareStream.

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to learn and work with pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Mask fit testing is required for this position.
