Ultrasound Technologist

Shift Information

Shift Availability: Friday, Saturday, Sunday – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Facility Information

Location: Union Gap, WA

This position is situated in a free-standing Emergency Department.

Unit Information

  • Beds: 10
  • Minimum Experience Required: 2 years of acute care experience
  • Census: Approximately 10 patients per shift
  • First-Time Travelers: Not accepted unless they have 5+ years of experience

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses

  • Emergency Room patients, primarily adults with some pediatric cases
  • Common diagnoses include OBGYN, general, abdominal, and vascular conditions

Qualifications

  • Required License: ARDMS-OB and ABD; RVT preferred
  • Certifications: BLS required

Essential Skills

  • General ultrasound scanning skills
  • Vascular studies including DVT and arterial assessments
  • OBGYN exams for all trimesters, including size and dates, and BPP assessments
  • General abdominal, pelvic, and testicular ultrasound expertise
  • Ability to work independently as the sole Ultrasound Technologist

  • EMR: EPIC
  • PACS: Philips View
  • Equipment: GE Logiq P9

Orientation

Duration: 2-5 days of orientation. Orientation for Night shifts will occur during the day.

Scheduling

  • Weekend rotations are based on requisition needs
  • On-call responsibilities include 1 night per week (10:30 PM to the following morning) and 1 weekend per month (Friday night to Monday morning)
  • If working the weekend night schedule, on-call duties will only be for one weeknight per week
  • 30-minute response time for on-call duties
  • Holiday expectations require working if scheduled on a normal workday
  • Requests for time off (RTO) can be approved for up to 3 days
  • Shifts are determined based on requisition
  • A mostly consistent schedule is to be expected
