About the Opportunity

This is a traveling position for experienced Sonographers who live more than 100 miles away from the facility. Pediatric experience is required, and permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler.

The position is situated in a facility that features a total of 11 imaging rooms and offers services to both adult and pediatric patient populations.

General Information

• Minimum Experience Required: 2 years
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Patient Care

The Sonographer will be responsible for performing routine scans including complete and limited scans, 2D measurements, strain imaging, transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), and stress echocardiograms. The expected patient volume is approximately 8 outpatient and 6-8 inpatient cases per day.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ARDMS or CCI-RCS

Required Education

Completion of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is required.

Skills

Specific skill requirements will be discussed during the interview process.

Unit Support

The unit is well-supported by various personnel, including:

• Patient Service Representatives for check-ins
• Registered Nurses (RNs)
• 17 additional Sonographers within the department
• 14 Cardiologists for physician support
• Clinical Informaticist

Technology and Equipment

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
• Imaging Equipment: PHILLIPS Cv-x and 7C

Working Conditions

• Floating: The position may require floating from the clinic to the hospital.
• Call Coverage: Requires 6 nights per month, with weekend coverage occurring every 6-7 weeks.
• Orientation: 5 days

Scheduling Expectations

• Weekend rotation and call every 6-7 weeks.
• Holidays are considered part of the weekend and call rotation.
• Time off must be approved by management.
