Job Description:

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for the quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation. They are responsible for providing patient education, quality patient care, and meeting all regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily operation of the women’s health section of radiology.
• Suggests changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, and coordinates training and development in breast imaging specialties.
• Adheres to all FDA guidelines for the mammography section.
• Maintains appropriate records for all accreditation processes and inspections.
• Ensures completion of daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Mammography imaging procedures and practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently contacts a service engineer if needed.
• Verifies exam orders, identifies the patient through two means of identification, and provides exam education.
• Maintains accurate patient records in EHR.
• Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities and takes calls, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
• Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
• Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Two years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist.
• Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
