Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in producing high-quality radiologic images while collaborating effectively with team members to ensure exceptional patient care.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to consistently produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images.
  • Instruct and prepare patients for examinations while assisting the Radiologist during procedures.
  • Show proficiency in operating all relevant equipment and report any malfunctions to the manager or lead.
  • Complete assigned procedures efficiently and assist with department operations between procedures, including room turnover.
  • Maintain medication security, ensuring that access is limited to authorized personnel.
  • Provide healthcare services competently across all age groups.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues.

Documentation and Information Management

  • Utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS proficiently.
  • Engage in hospital performance improvement activities and initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality by safeguarding personal access credentials and patient care information.
  • Respond to technical inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel, ensuring professional phone etiquette is maintained.

Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the field.
  • New York State License (or eligibility to obtain prior to start).
  • ARRT certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) Certification is preferred.

Additional Information

This position involves a standard schedule of five 8-hour days, with on-call requirements ranging from 5 to 7 shifts per 7-week time block, including weekends. Candidates seeking a contract position of six months may also be considered.

Location: This position is available in the city of your choosing within the state of New York.
