Operating Room Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Technician to join our team. This position requires expertise in managing operating room procedures and assisting surgical teams. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in the operating room.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
• Number of Beds: 4 beds in the main OR and 8 beds in the pavilion
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner Surginet
• Weekend Requirement: Not required
• Holidays: Covered by call
• Scrub Color: Provided by the facility
• Floating: Not required

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical teams by preparing the operating room and ensuring necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Maintain sterile conditions and assist in the scrubbing and circulating processes.
• Handle 15-25 surgical cases per day, with additional details on types of cases, including orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, general, gynecology, urology, and ENT.
• Participate in call rotations of 1 shift per week and every 4th weekend.
• Work closely with anesthesiologists for patient care during surgeries.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Experience with Cerner Surginet is preferred.
• Ability to manage critical patients and processes within the OR.

Orientation and Training

Orientation includes one week of paperwork and one week partnered with a preceptor to ensure comprehensive acclimation to the workflow and procedures of the operating room.
