Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled OR Tech to join our operating room team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing surgical environments and assisting surgical teams with various procedures.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Operating Room
• Suites: 12
• Common Cases:
  • General: bowel, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, gastrectomy, hernia repairs, laparoscopic surgeries, organ procurements, spleen, thyroid surgeries, tracheostomies, incisions and drainages
  • GYN: cesarean sections, hysterectomies, laser procedures, salpingo-oophorectomy, tubal ligations
  • GU/Cysto: circumcision, cystoscopy, hypospadias, lithotripsy, nephrectomy, orchiectomy, penile implants, prostate surgeries, TURP
  • Orthopedic: scopes, external fixation, closed reductions, total knee and hip replacements, ORIF shoulder, ulnar/radial, finger/hand surgeries, acetabular, pelvic, femoral, tibial/fibular, ankle, and foot surgeries
  • Neuro: ACDF, burr holes, craniotomy, tumor resections, laminectomy, shunts, external ventricular drains
  • Plastic Surgery: trauma plastic surgeries, facial fractures, skin grafts, flaps
  • Ophthalmology: enucleation, vitrectomy, globe rupture repairs
  • ENT: ethmoidectomy, sinus surgeries, laryngectomies, tonsillectomies/adenoidectomies, myringotomy, mastoidectomy, tympanoplasty, stapedectomy
  • Thoracic: hiatal hernia repairs, lobectomies, thoracotomies, lung wedge resections
  • Endoscopy: bronchoscopy, EGD, colonoscopy

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment
• Provide support to surgical teams during procedures
• Ensure sterility and cleanliness in the operating room
• Possess skills in orthopedic and neuro procedures, including robotics
• Handle emergency pediatric cases when required
• Participate in call rotation as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an operating room setting
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA)
• CST certification preferred but not required
• Experience in orthopedics and neuro surgery is essential
• Robotic surgery experience is a significant asset

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 10 hours
• Schedule: Mid shift, Monday to Thursday, 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM with rotating weekend call

Additional Information

All candidates must adhere to the fingernail policy, which prohibits artificial nails in patient care areas. Any refusal to comply will result in termination of the contract.

Scrubs will be provided by the facility.
