Operating Room Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced operating room environment and possess the necessary certifications to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the operating room and surgical instruments.
• Support the surgical team during procedures to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Participate in regular inventory checks and equipment maintenance.
• Follow established protocols for sterilization and infection control.
• Collaborate effectively with all members of the surgical team.

Shift Information

The Operating Room Technologist position includes a schedule of 12-hour shifts with a commitment of 36 hours per week. Self-scheduling options are available, allowing for flexibility in managing call duties and weekend shifts.

Call Requirements

• A total of approximately 120 hours of call per contract.
• One weekend shift required every six weeks.
• Preferred holiday call participation, though not mandatory.

Orientation

New hires will undergo a one-week orientation, which may include both in-person and remote modules. It is essential that clinicians are present for the entirety of the orientation week.

Location

This position is available within a facility located in the Denver, CO area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Must hold a current Colorado DORA license.
• Experience with general, orthopedic, robotic, neuro, spine, urology, and ENT procedures is preferred.

Additional Information

Scrubs will be provided for all staff. The facility features 16 operating suites and handles an average of 30 cases per day. While floating is generally not required, there may be rare instances where flexibility is needed within designated zones. The response time for call is expected to be within 30 minutes, with accommodations available on-site if necessary.
