Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Technician to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures by providing assistance to the surgical team, ensuring a sterile and safe environment, and maintaining high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile techniques and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures, providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments and sponges used during surgery.
• Participate in the cleaning and restocking of the operating room after procedures.
• Effectively communicate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow.
• Be available for self-scheduled call shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA required.
• Active Colorado DORA license is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
• Experience with a variety of surgical cases including General, Ortho, Robotics, Neuro, Spine, Urology, and ENT.
• Strong technical skills and ability to work under pressure.

Schedule & Requirements

• Shift Length: 12 hours.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
• Weeknight and weekend call requirements approximately 120 hours total per contract are self-scheduled between weekdays and weekends.
• One weekend shift required every six weeks.
• Preferred holiday call availability.
• Call response time of 30 minutes with availability of a sleep room on-site if necessary.
• Orientation period of one week is required before starting.
• Self-scheduling is available; block scheduling can be accommodated.

Working Environment

The position involves working in a busy operating room environment with an average of 30 surgical cases per day across 16 surgical suites. All scrubs are provided for the role.
