Surgical Technologist

Unit Information

Location: Lone Tree, CO

Unit: Spine & Total Joint

• Number of Operating Rooms: 3 for Spine and Joint
• Additional Beds: 9 for Spine and Joint and 4 for the International Hip Preservation Center
• Staffing: 60 total staff members
• Day Shift: One Charge RN and one Unit Secretary; typically staffing 8-11 rooms daily (Monday to Friday, with on-call for weekends)
• Night Shift: Night call from 5 PM to 11 PM, Monday to Friday, no overnight required
• Electronic Medical Records: Meditech

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation and surgical procedures in the operating room.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
• Support the surgical team with scrubbing for large spinal fusions, including ALIF, OLIF, DLIF, ACDF, and ACDR procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe operating environment prior to, during, and after procedures.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Minimum 6 months of current hospital experience as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active DORA and NBSTA certifications
• Experience in large spinal fusion procedures

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with spine and joint scrub

Unit Guidelines/Policies

• On-call is required with a 30-minute response time.
• Scrubs are provided for the operating room and surgical technologists.
