Job Description:

The Neonatal Respiratory Therapist, in a transport role, is responsible for providing critical respiratory care for neonatal patients during transport situations. The therapist will work within NICU settings, utilizing specialized transport equipment and ensuring the safe and effective handling of respiratory needs during patient transport.

Responsibilities:

• Neonatal Airway & Ventilation: Mask ventilation, airway stabilization, ventilator management, and transport ventilators.
• Transport Operations: Manage transport physiology, isolette systems, equipment troubleshooting, and oxygen management.
• Critical Neonatal Care: Handle conditions such as RDS, MAS, PPHN, thermoregulation, and early recognition of patient deterioration.
• Ensure effective communication and crisis management, including NRP skills.

Requirements:

• RRT/CRT, NRP certifications required; PALS required, STABLE preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years NICU Transport experience.
• Proficiency in documenting transport events and managing equipment during transport.
