We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Asheville, NC. This role involves providing exceptional respiratory care to patients across various service lines, including adult and pediatric care.

Unit Information

The Respiratory Services unit is designed to support a wide range of respiratory care needs:

  • Number of Beds: 854
  • Number of Staff: 120
  • Patient Ratios: 10 – 25
  • Type of Equipment:
    • GE R860 Adult Ventilators
    • Draeger Infant/Pediatric Ventilators
    • Newport HT70 Transport Ventilator
    • V60 Non-Invasive Device
    • Vapotherm and Comfort Flow High Flow Oxygen Devices
  • Electronic Medical Records: Cerner

Job Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist will perform various duties, including but not limited to:

  • Administering respiratory therapies and procedures to patients.
  • Utilizing ventilators and other respiratory equipment effectively.
  • Coordinating with healthcare teams to develop treatment plans.
  • Monitoring patient responses to therapies and making necessary adjustments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Required:
    • North Carolina Respiratory License
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • Preferred:
    • NRP certification

Work Environment

The position will require working in critical care units and various patient floors. Evening and weekend shifts are expected, with at least four weekend shifts per six-week schedule.

Dress Code

Professional attire includes scrubs in medium gray or pewter color.
