Respiratory Therapist

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The position requires expertise in adult critical care and the ability to provide respiratory support in various settings, including emergency and intensive care. The successful candidate will be well-versed in a range of respiratory procedures and capable of working independently as part of a healthcare team.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

• Department: Respiratory Therapy – Adult Care
• Type of Patients: Primarily adults with some pediatric and infant cases in the emergency department
• Areas Covered: Emergency Room, ICU, CVICU, and wards; no outpatient services
• Treatments Per Day: Varies, typically 15 or more

Key Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory treatments including ABGs, EKGs, and management of various ventilators.
• Provide assistive intubation support across all patient care areas.
• Monitor and support patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, and other respiratory equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in adult critical care settings
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), PALS
• Skills: Confidence in adult critical care procedures and equipment operation

Work Environment

• Shifts are 12 hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Candidates may be required to float between multiple locations within the region.
• No solo shifts; collaboration with team members is essential.
• Department-specific orientation will include 1 day of NEO and 3 days in department training.

Dress Code

Professionals are required to wear black scrubs with no logos.

• Vents: Avea, LTV, Zoll
• CPAP/BiPAP: V60, V30, SiPAP
• High Flow: Vapotherm and Optiflow
