Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide respiratory therapy services in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care. The position requires both independent and collaborative practice to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shift Details

  • Shift: Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • On Call Requirement: Approximately 4 days per month

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments to patients, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates.
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as ABG draws and EKGs.
  • Provide care to patients utilizing equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP devices.
  • Monitor patients’ respiratory status and adjust treatments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

Patient Population

The candidate will primarily work with adult patients, but will also encounter pediatric and neonatal patients.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Required certifications include:
    • ACLS (AHA)
    • BLS (AHA)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • PALS
  • Experience with neonatal care, particularly with Bubble CPAP and ventilator use.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

  • The position requires working weekends (Saturday, Sunday, Monday nights) and holidays.
  • Successful candidates will participate in a department-specific orientation with assigned preceptors.
  • During night shifts, the therapist will be the only respiratory therapist on duty, support will be available via on-call.
  • Dress Code: Solid colored scrubs of any color.
  • Department will cover clinical areas such as ER and inpatient care.
