Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a vital role within our respiratory services team. This position is located in Asheville, NC, and focuses on providing comprehensive respiratory care to our patients.

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 854
  • Number of Staff: 120
  • Day Shift RRTs: 15-20 for Adult service lines, 3-4 for NICU/Peds service lines
  • Night Shift RRTs: 12-16 for Adult service lines, 3-4 for NICU/Peds service lines
  • Patient Ratios: 10 – 25
  • Type of Equipment: GE R860 Adult vents, Draeger Infant/Peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vent, V60 Non-invasive device, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices.
  • EMR: Cerner

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications to be considered for the role:

  • Required:
    • North Carolina Respiratory License
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • Preferred: NRP Certification

Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for a variety of patient care tasks, including:

  • Administering respiratory therapy treatments and procedures
  • Monitoring and assessing patient respiratory status
  • Providing emergency respiratory care

Additional Information

  • Floating Areas: All Critical Care units and floors
  • Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter Scrubs
  • Weekends: Varying weekends (at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
