OR Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced OR Technician to join our surgical team. This position involves assisting in various surgical procedures within the Operating Room setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the surgical environment, ensuring sterilization and cleanliness.
• Assist surgical teams during procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Handle sterilization processes for surgical tools and equipment.
• Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure successful patient outcomes.
• Participate in the positioning and prepping of patients for surgical procedures.
• Assist in the documentation of surgical procedures and sponges/instruments counts.
• Monitor and maintain surgical equipment during operations.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Mid shift Monday – Thursday, 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM.
• Weekend call rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR Technician.
• Required certification: BLS (AHA) certification.
• CST certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in orthopedic and neurosurgery required.
• Robotic surgical experience is necessary.

Common Cases

You will be involved in a variety of surgical cases, including but not limited to:

• General Surgery: Bowel, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, gastrectomy, hernia repair, organ procurement, etc.
• Gynecological Surgery: C-section, hysterectomy, salpingectomies, etc.
• Urology/Cysto: Circumcision, nephrectomy, prostate surgeries, etc.
• Orthopedic Surgery: Total knee and hip replacements, fractures, etc.
• Neurosurgery: Craniotomies, tumor resections, etc.
• Plastic Surgery: Facial reconstructive surgeries, skin grafts, etc.
• Otolaryngology: Sinus surgeries, tonsillectomies, etc.
• Thoracic Surgery: Lobectomies, thoracotomies, etc.
• Endoscopy: Bronchoscopy, EGD, colonoscopy, etc.

Additional Information

• Scrubs provided by the facility.
• Must comply with the facility’s fingernail policy; artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas.
• No floating outside of the Operating Room.
