First Assist (OR)

Job Overview

The First Assist in the Operating Room plays a critical role in supporting surgical teams during procedures. This position requires strong collaboration, effective communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of surgical protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Ensure the operating room is instrument-ready and maintain a sterile environment.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure effective workflow during surgeries.
• Monitor patient conditions and assist with anesthesia as needed.
• Perform wound care and assist with suture placement as directed.
• Document surgical procedures and patient responses accurately.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical or related setting.
• Certification as a Surgical First Assistant is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, instruments, and techniques.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

Schedule

This position is scheduled from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
