Medical Assistant – Certified

Position Overview

This position supports a Hematology and Oncology clinic by assisting with patient care and administrative responsibilities. The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers to ensure efficient clinic operations and provide high-quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist providers during examinations
• Gather medical records, prepare charts, and conduct chart abstraction as needed
• Perform clinical tasks in accordance with established protocols and procedures
• Ensure a patient-centered approach to care, addressing patient needs and concerns
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the clinic

Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA-C) required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a similar setting
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically Epic

Work Schedule

This position offers an 8-hour workday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. There are no weekend or holiday requirements, and no call or standby duties are expected.

Additional Information

The Medical Assistant will primarily assist one or more providers and will be responsible for managing patient flow, with a maximum of 25 patients per day across a maximum of 2 providers. The role is situated in an ambulatory setting with no inpatients.
