Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic team in the CVOR unit. This position requires extensive expertise in the scrub role, particularly with cardiovascular surgical procedures.

Unit Overview

• Unit Name: CVOR
• Number of ORs: 6
• Patient Ratios: Each case requires 1 scrub and 1 circulator; additional staff for pump cases.
• Equipment: Stryker
• Documentation System: Cerner

Key Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, including but not limited to:

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Valve Replacements
• Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Insertions
• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
• Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS)
• Lobectomies
• Pacemaker and AICD Insertions
• Septal Myectomy
• Ross Procedure
• Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Insertions
• Femoral Cannulation
• Circulatory Arrest Procedures

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is mandatory.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Extensive experience in CVOR procedures is required.
• A minimum of 2 travel assignments in a surgical capacity is necessary.
• First Assist experience is preferred, but not mandatory.

Working Conditions

Staff will follow a surgical attire policy, and scrubs will be provided by the facility. There may be occasional floating to other areas as needed.
