Job Description:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in Intensive Care Units (ICU). This role requires significant critical care experience and the ability to float across multiple facilities within a 60-mile radius of Colorado Springs, CO. The role includes titration of critical drips and managing respiratory needs.

Responsibilities:

• Titrate critical drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, and more.
• Assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs including managing vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow.
• Read and interpret tele strips as there are no monitor techs.
• Participate in a flexible schedule to fill gaps as needed, including working 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule and potentially participating in holiday rotations.
• Float to various units including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele.
• Ensure the completion of 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor.

Requirements:

• Must have 2 years of ICU experience; preference for candidates with prior travel experience or, if a first-time traveler, 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience.
• Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Must be comfortable working without the assistance of nurse aides unless sitter needs are warranted.
• The ability to obtain housing within the 60-mile zone to accommodate floating requirements.
